Pen Portrait
I originally come from Ranchi, a hill station in Bihar state in India. I graduated from Ranchi Medical School in 1982 and completed my post-graduation in Orthopedics from Prince of Wales Medical, Patna. My love for village life took me to a remote Primary Health Centre in the northern part of Bihar, where I spent 2 years and came into contact with the devastating effects of some the common tropical diseases.

I came to the UK in the year 1987 and after completing my Pre-Fellowship rotation in the fishing town of Grimsby, I became a Registrar in Orthopedics at Walton Fazakerly Hospital in Liverpool. I have been a fanatical Liverpool supporter ever since. I successively achieved the Masters Degree in Orthopedics from Liverpool University.

My career took me to Dundee as a Plastics registrar and finally completed my training in Orthopedics in the Manchester programme, before joining as a Consultant in the most beautiful part of North Wales.

Mrs. Audrey Jones
Central Office Manager, BIDA

Mrs Audrey Jones, the manager of the Central Office of BIDA, has been with us for the past 13 years. She is being assisted by senior administrator, Miss Lesley Jones for the past  9 years.

When fully staffed, it will have three members 'in situ', dealing with a whole range of issues from day- to-day administration and membership to events and meetings of BIDA.

The National Executive Committee with around 27 members in total, meets bi-monthly on Sundays at "ODA House". The Central Office is fortunate in having the services of another very committed lady, Ms Margaret Barron, who attends the meetings and takes the 'Minutes'.

The Central Office is situated approximately two miles from Stockport Town Centre on the A6 heading South towards Buxton and Macclesfield and is called "ODA HOUSE".
